On August 19, we had our volleyball team's first official game of the season. Many of us have been excited since the beginning of the week and we were ready to put what we've practiced on the court. During warm-up I noticed our team was although big but somehow more lively this year, which normally wouldn't be because people would just be doing their own thing.
When the game started I could see my teammates faces all turned serious and i could see their nervousness kick in. Surprisingly, I was feeling the same thing they were, mostly because everyone was quiet and our starters were frustrated because we were letting them score from our mistakes. We lost by losing 3 straight sets, but the game continued and we played a full 5 sets. The starters went back in on the 4th set and coach especially informed us to win this set. We were leading but it was still very messy, we ended winning the set by just 4 points. The last set, coach put in another new batch, and we gave the set away as well. In the end although we lost, our team was still a new team with lots of potential, we had some nice sets and spikes, we just need more court experience and a better understanding of where to move. From what I've seen, we have just need to fix some little problems, and then we will be where we want to be and execute our full potential. This year team will be a strong and solid team.
