ISAC@Subic Student Council Jan 19-22

School last week was really busy. Events and activities filled up everyone's schedule. The ISAC competition attracted many people into our school. Us, the student council, spotted this attraction, so we decided to make use of this opportunity and brainstormed about some fundraiser ideas. I came up with the idea of selling toiletries and the idea expanded, we ended up having a student council sari sari store! I also came up with an idea to collect recyclables, I knew there was going to be a lot of trash, and even trash is money, we wanted to try to make the most out of this event. The day when ISAC started, it was very frustrating, busy but exciting at the same time. I felt rushed and pressured, then i realized that actually doing them, taking action and making things happen wasnt as easy and simple as coming up with the ideas, actually doing them was harder than saying it. That first morning when ISAC began, as i recall, I hated it. The day before, I went to buy our candies and stuff we were selling with ms.pascual, and then went to my dad's company to get some boxes for our recyclables. So the first few days, i felt like i was going most of the work, i came to school early, organized, taped our boxes and placed it. The heat was adding into my stress, then sprite spilled on my shirt, then I just totally lost my temper and totally flipped out. Then I calmed myself the next few days. At the end it all turned out, "alright". The sari sari store was a good idea, we made a couple thousand. Our recycling plan turned out to be a total disaster! The first day, our trash were all taken away and dumped somewhere else. Then on the last day, all our trash were gone again.. so we just forgot about it. In conclusion, our advisor, Ms.Pascual has been really disappointed at our efforts. I think she's right, we must take these things more seriously, we must live up to our duties and responsibilities!
